Renting an apartment in New York City can be a stressful experience, but if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere! In a market where demand is constantly on the rise, a certain sense of urgency is necessary to lock in the apartment you have been waiting for. At The Ricky Hadzovic Group, we take great pride in our knowledge of the market and inventory, our honesty and integrity with our clients and colleagues, our close relationships with many management companies, and our dedication to manage expectations while ensuring a smooth and easy process.
In order to be properly prepared when searching for an apartment in NYC, you should meet the minimum requirements and have the following ready:
In order to qualify, you should earn 40-45x the monthly rent.
For example, a $2,000 apartment requires you to earn around $80,000-$90,000 per year.
If for any reason you don’t, you may use a guarantor, or “co-signer”. And they should earn 80-90x the monthly rent in order to qualify. You may also use a third-party guarantor, for a fee.
Good to excellent credit is a must. If you fall below the 700 range, a third-party guarantor may be necessary.
You should have the following handy when submitting your application: A valid ID, 2 most recent pay stubs, a Verified employment letter, 2 most recent tax returns
